School Supplies: the things to buy that make your highschool career the easiest ever

•those hole reinforcer things, because I will tell you, if you ever have a binder or folder with clips, you will need these. Guaranteed.

• gel higlighters
You will be the coolest kid in class

• lots of mechanical pencils
Best ones are paper mate

•0.5 and 0.7 lead
Can't forget this

• #2 pencils
You will need this is for the TCAPS, CCAPS, and ACTs

• whatever calculator your math teacher says
Likely it will be TI-30XA

• a binder or folder for each class

• a folder that you can put all your important papers in, for EVERY class

• water bottle
You'll want to rehydrate, and continually go to the water fountain

• lots of multi colored highlighters
You can have one color for definitions, one for formulas, one for theorems..

•lanyard
School id, bus pass and eventually (hopefully) car keys

•a reliable phone
I really hate to say this, cause it's something that everyone thinks they need, but if you participate in ANY after school activity you will want a phone

•breath mints
After lunch it's good to have these just in case. (I recommend the fruit/mint Icebreakers)

• 2-3 red or blue pens
you really don't need to buy the 20 billion pack

•lots and lots... and lots of notebook paper

• whatever is on your teacher's syllabus

• hand sanitizer
Also for lunch and really any time

• if you do have a phone or iPOd etc. and your school allows you to use these, you want a charger and headphones

• little tabs to mark sections in a book or other places

• fine point/ normal point Sharpie
Or two

• ruler

• if school doesn't give you a planner, then you REALLY REALLY REALLY NEED TO BUY ONE

• several 3 ring binders

• dividers for the binders

•white out
I don't care how special you think you are with a pen

• sticky notes
Can't do you any harm to have these

• locker divider

•flash drive

• email address and probably a Facebook too

• digital watch
That way it's easy to tell what time it is (especially if you don't know how to read a monologue clock, which you should)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For artists: all that stuff plus this
• medium sketch book
• REALLY nice eraser
• a nice set of different colored pens
• printer paper
(Not all of it at once, but just to have some every day is nice)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For gym

• gym bag
Some sort will work just find a size to fit whatever you aren't wearing to school that day

• gym clothes
Nice tennis shoes; basketball shorts for boys and yoga pants for girls (leggings do not count!! Do NOT EVER wear leggings for pants)

•deodorant

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For girls
• a bathroom kit for your locker
(Extra brush, toothbrush  and paste?, and nail clippers)
• LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of extra hair do's
You'll lose 'em, lend 'em out and never get 'em back.
Definitions of terms
Some definitions that might be useful:
Peer editing- where you trade your paper with peers (usually around you) and editing each other's paper (according to a rubric)
Youhoo! Overhere! Orientation this way!
I am going to school you, while I'm being schooled, so that you don't get schooled at school. I'm more fun than your Geometry teacher, but probably not as fun as your Uncle Jim who would let you sit on the couch all day and do nothing. I am here to help the average highschool experience from your personal life, to social, to grades. If you need help with ANYTHING just let me know. Just know that I'm in school too and therefore have limited time. Some of the helpful tips you'll find in my blog:
-best school supplies to buy
-relationships tips
-explanations of particularly hard math or English work
-overviews and chapter summeries of every book my class reads
-social life tips
I am not the only contributer to my blog, if I think one of my friends has better expertise in an area than I do, you're going to end up with their answer. Take it anyway.
Best of luck,
Sage
